Greek tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas and his brother Petros Tsitsipas achieved an astonishing feat recently at the Antwerp Open, when the duo won the doubles title together. World No. 6 said in a recent interview that winning a title with his brother is one of the most special feelings that he has ever had, and it cannot be explained.

It was a very special moment. I remember serving on match point & thinking to myself ‘I’m about to win an ATP title with my brother.’ I’ve won ATP titles on my own usually. I’m serving for those moments on my own.

Tsitsipas went on to say that the doubles title that he won with his brother is more valuable to him than any other trophy that he has ever won. He further explained:

I’ve won titles in my career. I wouldn’t compare it to anything in the world. As a professional tennis player, that time means more to me than any other title I’ve won in my entire life.. than any trophy I’ve won.

As per the 25-year-old himself, even participating in big events like Grand Slams as a duo was very big for the two brothers. However, winning an ATP title together was an entirely different feeling. Tsitsipas said that seeing his brother so happy made him even happier than the older brother, as Petros seemingly doesn’t show too many emotions. They wanted to achieve it, fought extremely hard for it, and, in the end, won the doubles title at the Antwerp Open.

He concluded:

Seeing my brother so happy.. he’s the type of guy who doesn’t show too many emotions. I could see a sparkle & happiness in his eyes. It made me so happy as an older brother to help him through that. We were just fighting so hard. We really wanted it & we got it at the end.”

Unlike his older brother, Petros Tsitsipas has not achieved much in his tennis career. In fact, he does not even have a singles ranking at present and only plays doubles events. His doubles ranking is currently 81, and the Antwerp Open title that he won with Stefanos has so far been the only title of his career. However, he is only 23 years old and has room to improve.

Talking about Stefanos Tsitsipas, he is currently busy playing in the 2023 Paris Masters. He beat Felix Auger-Aliassime in the round of 32 and will now face German Alexander Zverev in the round of 16. Stefanos Tsitsipas has upped his game in the past few months and has performed really well in the last few tournaments he has appeared in. With that being said, there is no denying that he will definitely look to win the 2023 Paris Masters.
