Stefanos Tsitsipas is getting trolled brutally on social media after the second-round exit in the US Open 2023. As the Greek World No.7 failed to the unseeded Swiss player Dominic Stephan Stricker in a five-setter thriller. The final score was 5-7, 7-6 (7-2), 7-6(7-5), 6-7(6-8), 3-6. After losing the first set, Tsitsipas came back clutch in two tie-breakers consecutively to take a 2-1 set lead.
The Swiss qualifier played a different level of tennis in the last two sets to make a comeback win. This must be the greatest victory in the entire career of the Swiss. Stefanos Tsitsipas even though was not in great touch the whole hard court season, was not expected to lose in the second round itself.
The Greek star’s loss means that the Serbian World No.1 Novak Djokovic‘s draw opens up even easier now. Tsitsipas was the projected quarter-final opponent of the Serbian. Earlier, Holger Rune and Felix Auger-Alliasime who were the Serbian’s projected semi-final and pre-quarter final opponents respectively lost in their first-round matches.

As expected, the social media didn’t hesitate to crush the Greek star’s tennis after his early exit in the US Open.
Most of the tweets had Paula Badosa as the subject of his recent downfall as the new tennis couple has been losing way too often these days.
With this loss, Stefanos Tsitsipas is at a win-loss ratio of 6-6 at the US Open. This should be alarming for the Greek star as the previous top-5 player is continuously failing to make any mark on the tour after the clay court season.
