Sumit Nagal, who shocked the tennis world after reaching the main draw of the Australian Open this season, opens up about his priorities for the coming season.
For the uninitiated, Nagal became the first Indian to beat a seeded player in the main draw of a Grand Slam. Even though he lost in the following round, he made a statement.

Sumit Nagal, currently ranked 121, believes that breaking out in the top 100 rankings and playing in the Olympics is his second priority.
Staying fit would be the highest priority. The second (goal) would be to play in the Olympics, which would be a nice feeling. But for that, you need to be within the top 100. It (Olympic qualification) would only be possible if I keep winning the matches.Nagal said during the Chennai Open ATP challenger event via Outlook India
He further added that staying fit is his main priority. His career has been cut short by various injuries, and that too in crucial phases of his career.
I have to focus on upcoming matches and not wonder about what's going to happen in the next five months because tennis is a very unpredictable sport where anything can happen.Continuing further, he added
Sumit Nagal is grateful for the love he got after he won the match during the first round of the Australian Open
Nagal was up against Alexander Bublik in the first round of the Australian Open. The 26-year-old played superbly and beat the Kazakh player in three straight sets.

I gained a lot of confidence in terms of tennis, and physically and mentally too, going to the court and carrying the pressure. But at the same time, I was also looking to play solid tennis and try to do the things that I wanted to work on.Referring to this Nagal said
Nagal admitted that he gained a lot of confidence and momentum after his win at the Australian Open. He also believes that the attention that he got after the victory will increase his hunger to do even better shortly.
