Australian actress and comedian Rebel Wilson has revealed that her forthcoming memoir is about a situationship she had with a WTA player. It is believed that the tennis female in question is World No.12 Karolina Muchova.
Muchova and Wilson’s friendship first became public after the tennis player told reporters that she had a text chat with the actress during the 2019 US Open. Several social media replies made their friendship more spectacular to fans. In 2022, Muchova invited Wilson to come watch her Wimbledon second-round match as an A-list guest.
However, since the end of 2022, there has been no news about the duo’s relationship. There are speculations that since Wilson fell in love with designer Ramona Agruma, Muchova has distanced herself from her.
But in an interview with PEOPLE, the actress revealed that her forthcoming book, Rebel Rising: A Memoir, is about their relationship, even though she never mentioned Muchova.
It was like a rollercoaster. Sometimes, when I was dating men, people would even comment. They're like, ‘God, Rebel, you can take them or leave them. You weren't that ever invested.’ And then, here was somebody where [I] felt so invested in and even thought at one point, ‘Oh, I could give up my career for this person, travel around the world on the tennis circuit'.Wilson said
Meanwhile, Muchova is yet to compete in any tournament this season due to a wrist injury she sustained at the 2023 US Open. With a reputation for beating top players, she defeated Aryna Sabalenka in the semifinals of the French Open to reach her maiden Grand Slam final.
Karolina Muchova determined to return to court after injury spell
Recently, Muchova revealed that she is determined to come back from injury as soon as possible. The World No.12 sustained a wrist injury after reaching the semifinals of the US Open and has since undergone surgery.
Following my injury at the US Open and an extensive rehabilitation phase, it turned out that a medical intervention was necessary. So here I am, tired and sad, but I know I'll be okay now. The surgery was successful and I’m gonna do all I can to see you on the court again soon.Muchova explained via X last month
Tennis enthusiasts were hoping to see her back at the Miami Open, but the Czech Republic star was the first player to withdraw from the tournament. Also, there’s no comeback date yet from the former Korean Open winner.
