Casper Ruud is back in another Clay final as the Norwegian proves his prowess on the surface once again. Up against clay court specialist Albert Ramos Vinolas, Ruud won the semi-finals clash 6-2, 6-0 as he moves closer to his 9th Tour title and his 8th title on clay. This is Ruud’s 9th Clay event for the season and his fifth final of the season with titles won in Argentina and Geneva while having a runner-up finish in the 2022 Miami Masters and the 2022 French Open.

Matteo Berrettini continues to fight to rise in the rankings and enter the Top-10 once again after a disappointing turn of events during the Golden Swing earlier this season followed by the subsequent point withdrawal from Wimbledon that has pushed the Italian on the boundary of the Top-15. He is playing in his first Clay tournament of the season and defeated Dominic Thiem in the semi-finals taking out the Austrian 6-1, 6-4.

This will be the 5th meeting between the two players and their 4th on clay. Neither of the two players has won two consecutive matches against each other with Berrettini winning matches 2 and 4 while Ruud won their first and third meeting. The head-to-head is tied at 2-2.
