Seeded 9th in the recently played Wimbledon Championships, Taylor Fritz was expected to have a great competition this year but could only manage a second-round finish. He was beaten by Swedish star Mikael Ymer in a thrilling five-set encounter. Despite winning the first two sets and expecting to win the match easily, he lost focus, started to lose easy points, and gave away the next 3 consecutive sets.

He eventually lost the match by 3-6, 2-6, 6-3, 6-4, 6-2. Taylor is known for streaming games on Twitch and while he was way back at home, one fan commented, “Finally back. Are you happy you lost? I mean finally back to Twitch.” Fritz wasn’t too happy to see such a direct comment, and he swore in the name of the fan, saying, “Happy I lost? Get banned honestly. Get banned like guys. Happy I lost? Get the f*** outta here.”

Taylor Fritz isn’t a person who loses his cool very often, and it was pretty understandable that the American wasn’t in the right state of mind. He was heavily disheartened by his loss in the second round. Fritz also talked about how much he misses not being in Wimbledon at the moment saying, “There’s literally nowhere in the world I’d rather be right now rather than Wimbledon right now.”

Fritz has been acquainted with mental problems for a long time and, after ending his Wimbledon journey way too soon this year, things might have just gone from bad to worse. Quite a time ago, in the Netflix series, Break Point, he admitted to suffering from on-court pressure problems. He said, “It’s so much, the expectations, that I can’t think properly on the court. I can’t strategize properly. I can’t make the right decision.”

He also talked about the problems that are causing intensive pressure on his shoulders, saying, “I’ve got too much to lose. How bad it would be to lose this first round? I’m playing too much not to lose. Not playing enough to win. If you are scared to lose, then that’s where things fall apart. People actually had me as, like, one of the favorites to win the event. I believed it. It’s always really tough when you put a lot of expectations on one specific tournament.”
