Top-ranked American Taylor Fritz has been on a roll in 2024. However, unfortunately, his good form faces a small setback as the 26-year-old faces a major first-round defeat at the Mexican Open.

At the Australian Open, the American had a great run, going till the quarter-finals, where he fell short against Novak Djokovic. After that, Fritz only played in the USA.

Playing next in Mexico, the American was up against Italy’s Matteo Arnaldi, Despite posing a comeback in the second set, he faced a three-set loss in the first round. The No. 4 seed lost 4-6,6-4,3-6 and saw himself out early.

However, his disappointment did not end there, as the fans filled the internet with brutal messages about his loss.
