American tennis star Taylor Fritz took on Hungarian Fabian Marozsan in his third-round match at the 2024 Australian Open.
While everything seemed to go well for the American considering he won the match in four sets, viewers noticed some issues with Fritz’s shoes. There was a big hole in his left shoe.
Fritz looked unbothered with the hole in his shoe but it did not sit well with the fans who criticized the shoe brand.
Nike, who sponsors Fritz’s apparel faced criticism from the fans. As Fritz’s Nike Air Zoom Vapor 11 had a noticeable hole, fans thrashed the $153 billion sportswear brand.

Taylor Fritz also took an indirect jibe at his shoe sponsors when he was asked about having enough shoes for his next match.
The American joked that depends on how many drop shots Stefanos Tsitsipas hits in the next round. It was an indirect jibe as Fritz struggled to return the drop shots in his third-round match due to issues with his shoes.
Anyways, despite so many issues, the American ace made a comeback against Fabian Marozsan to win it in four sets. After conceding the first set 3-6, Fritz won the next three sets to advance to the next round. The American ace won his third-round match 3-6, 6-4, 6-2, 6-2 in two hours and 33 minutes.
Fritz will next face Tsitsipas who beat Frenchman Luca Van Assche in straight sets in two hours. This will be the fourth meeting between the two players.
The Greek ace leads the head-to-head record 3-1. The last time the two players met at the Australian Open in 2022, Tsitipas won the match. However, Fritz claimed the last match between the two players.
