A new video of Rafael Nadal has been making rounds on Twitter. The video shows the tennis legend during his training, and the Former World No.1 seemed to be in pain as he held both of his knees while looking at the ground. The Spaniard then proceeded to walk away from his practice session.
This video has worried tennis fans as it is raising more doubts over Rafael Nadal taking part in the 2023 Roland Garros. He could not take part in the Italian Open, which he has won a record ten times. The 22-time Grand Slam winner has also been dominant in the French Open throughout his career. He holds the record with 14 French Open titles to his name.
Nadal’s most recent match came in the Australian Open in January, and he has only played four matches all season. During the Australian Open, he suffered a hip injury that has kept him out of play. Nadal is already 36 years old, and injuries can derail the latter stages of his career.
Nadal’s prospects of missing the French Open are strong. He was about to defend his championship, and the world expected him to lock horns with youngsters such as Carlos Alcaraz. Rafael Nadal should not be written off, as fans point out that there are additional videos shot afterward that show Nadal being at ease during practice.
