“The GOAT returns!” Novak Djokovic all set for his comeback at Tel Aviv since his withdrawal from the US Open
Novak Djokovic
Novak Djokovic, one of the greatest athletes of all time, has been under the radar over his ‘unvaccinated‘ status since the start of the year. He had to face a major setback when he had to withdraw his name from the 2022 US Open as he is still ‘unvaccinated’ nor wished to get the vaccine soon which led to not complying with the US mandates and guidelines. He has been having a tough time since he could not defend his titles at 2022 Australian Open and 2022 French Open.
He was looking for some kind of exception that could have allowed him to play since he had played in 2021 till the last minute but things did not turn out in his favor. He had already missed out on playing at the ATP tournaments that led up to the US Open. Amid all his tough phases, he proved his dominance at the All England Club clinching his 7th Wimbledon title and fourth in a row which makes him undefeated in the last four years. With this win, he surpassed Roger Federer’s tally of 20 Grand Slam title wins and is just major away from equalling Rafael Nadal‘s 22 titles.
