The magic stays! Roger Federer is the only tennis player in the top 10 highest-paid athletes in 2022

Roger Federer

Roger Federer has not played a single tournament in 2022, and he still tops the list of the highest-paid tennis player in 2022. The former world number 1 and 20 times grand slam champion’s last match was the Wimbledon quarterfinals in 2021. He had to undergo knee surgery after that, and he will make his return on the grass court this year.

Federer has a stupendous amount of career titles. He has won 103 titles, the second-most in the open era. He is also routinely one of the top ten highest-paid athletes in any sport and ranked first among athletes with $100 million in endorsement income in 2020. So, It’s not surprising that he is present in the top ten highest-paid athletes list in 2022. But, what is surprising is that there is no male tennis player is in the top hundred except Federer, not even his contemporaries Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal.

The list of 100 highest-paid athletes in 2022 revealed some surprising details. There were just 3 tennis players on the top 100 list and the other two besides Roger Federer were women. Tennis is one of the few sports where male and female players are paid equally in a tournament. The most important fact about tennis players is that most of their earnings are based on endorsements, so they have a very hard time breaking into the top 100 list. For being able to do so, you must have a very large fan base, and the face should be able to inspire and reach people despite the boundaries of race, country, or other stuff. While Novak Djokovic is losing his endorsement from UKG, Roger’s endorsement game is still going strong.

Roger Federer has already announced that he would be teaming up with his longtime friend and rival Rafale Nadal for the Rod Laver Cup, but fans would be expecting the Swiss legend to turn up for the Wimbledon.
