“The new generation is great but we will keep pushing him,” Zinedine Zidane picks Rafael Nadal as the favorite to win the French Open amidst talks of NextGen stepping up

Rafael Nadal, Zinedine Zidane
Zinedine Zidane is one of the most popular and influential managers in football. He was also a legendary footballer having achieved some great feats in his career. He is currently the manager of the Spanish club Real Madrid. Rafael Nadal is a great supporter of Real Madrid and he had even got an opportunity to make a kick-off for their game.
Nadal is currently on the hunt for his fourteenth title at the French Open 2022. With Nadal’s dominance of the clay, he is always a favorite to win, in any clay-court event. Though there are some hiccups for Nadal, including his decreased favoritism for the winner of the title this year, he is putting up a strong performance on the French clay. Nadal will face his toughest test of the French Open 2022 on Sunday when he faces the world number 9, Felix Auger Aliassime in the pre-quarterfinals at Phillipe Chatrier.
If Nadal manages to get the best of Auger Aliassime, he is likely to face Novak Djokovic in the quarterfinals. Though many pundits have written Nadal off against Djokovic, Zidane feels that Nadal is still the favorite at Roland Garros and he will try to boost the morale of the legendary Spaniard.
Zinedine Zidane supports Rafael Nadal over the younger

This is the first time that there is some other Spaniard other than Nadal who is a bigger favorite to win the title in Paris. Carlos Alcaraz is living up to that high regard with some stunning performances, but Zinedine Zidane discerns that Nadal still has some edge leftover the young generation. He said:
“The new generation is great, but I am from the older one. We’ll try and keep pushing Rafael Nadal [as the favorite for the French Open] if he can, He’s still here, so it would be great. But it’s true that the new generation with Carlos Alcaraz will eventually take over.”
Zidane was the one who handed over the French Open trophy to Nadal in 2005. He said, “He’s won a lot of cups since.” He also said:
“It’s always a pleasure to be here and share moments like this in such a relaxed atmosphere and watch great athletes do their thing.”Roland Garros is such a legendary place, so whenever we have the chance to come here, we seize it.”
