Djokovic’s vaccination status has left him out of many tournaments in recent times, the Wimbledon winner’s situation regarding his participation in Roger’s cup is in the dark as of yet and only time can tell if he will be able to play in the tournament of not. Canadian health minister, Jean-Yves Duclos made it clear that the rules are the same for every player with some exceptions.

Duclos said, “Well first, the rules apply to everyone. There are a few exceptions but these are limited exceptions. So first of all, the rules apply to everyone, and second, COVID-19 is not over yet. And again, we need to be mindful of the fact that despite we have been so successful with two doses, we need to up our game and have more Canadians being up to date on their vaccination status.

The only hope for Djokovic to be able to participate in future tournaments is to hope for a change in rules or a special exemption, refusing to budge regarding his vaccination status, unless he decides to get vaccinated, there is little to no chance that he will be allowed to participate.
