Rafael Nadal, the 36-year-old Spaniard is undoubtedly one of the greatest tennis players of all time, with 22 Grand Slam titles to his name, Nadal leads the tally of most Grand Slam titles in history. Only Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer rival Nadal in the Grand Slam tally as both of them have 21 and 20 titles respectively.

Rafael Nadal has had a very successful season this year, he won the Australian Open and the French Open in this season and he looked to be going all out at Wimbledon as well but he was forced to retire from the tournament due to an abdominal strain that he suffered in the quarter-finals of the event.

After winning the French Open and the Australian Open, Rafael Nadal had his sights on Wimbledon but that dream was cut short due to an injury that the Spaniard suffered against Taylor Fritz in the quarter-finals, Nadal made his return from the injury at the Cincinnati Masters event recently but he was eliminated in the first round of the tournament.

Sitting down for an interview with the New York Post, Andy Roddick talked about Rafael Nadal’s chances at this year’s US Open, he said, “The big question mark is Rafa’s health. He has only played one match since withdrawing from Wimbledon. The preliminary tournaments had surprising winners, a guy who was ranked 150th in the world (Borna Coric) has just won Cincinnati. For the first time in a long time, I think there are more question marks than answers.

Rafael Nadal also admitted to not being at his best when made his comeback from injury at the Cincinnati Master event recently, the Spaniard will be looking to bounce back from the loss and make a proper comeback at the Flushing Meadows, which is the final major tournament of the season. Nadal will be looking to add yet another Grand Slam title to his trophy cabinet and make it 23 major titles which will see him edge even further than Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer.
