“There are opportunities for him to get back up there,” Andy Murray backed by brother Jamie ahead of 2023 season

Andy Murray is certainly not at the peak of his powers over the last couple of years. The Briton’s career was marred by a hip injury in 2017, and he has never been able to reach the same levels since. However, the three-time major champion was confident of returning to his best in 2022, which has failed to materalize.
Jamie Murray, brother of the two-time Wimbledon champion believes that there are several opportunities for Andy Murray to return to the top. “I’m hoping for good things for him. There are opportunities at the top of the men’s game for him to get back up there. I really believe that,” said Jamie.
Andy Murray failed to win a single title this season, however, he did manage to reach the finals of Sydney and Stuttgart Open. For the first time since 2017, Andy Murray managed to play three majors in a year. The only Grand Slam he missed in 2022 was the French Open back in May-June.
“I’ve got a pretty busy schedule planned,” Andy Murray on his 2023 schedule
Andy Murray is currently recovering from hand blisters. However, he expects to hit the ground running for the 2023 season, as he has a busy schedule planned. The Briton confirmed his presence at the Australian Open early next year, and he will be playing a warm-up tournament prior to the first major of the year.
Andy Murray stated that his main target for the 2023 season will be a deep run at Wimbledon. He expects to play the clay-court season, which will just come after a gruesome hard-court season.
“I’ve got a pretty busy schedule planned,” Murray told Hello magazine. “I’ll be kicking off the year in Australia which I always really enjoy. I’ll be playing a tournament out there, and then the Australian Open.”
“After that I’ll be doing some more hard-court tournaments, then hopefully the clay, and then back to the UK for the grass-court season.” When asked if a run at Wimbledon 2023 was in his future, Murray replied: “Yes, that’s the plan,” he added.
Andy Murray will be desperate for a much better show in 2023, after an unsuccessful year on tour. The Briton would like to remain as injury-free as possible which will help him reach his goals for next season.
