Karen Khachanov is a Russian professional tennis player. He won a silver medal at Tokyo Olympics 2020 and that is perhaps one of the more notable achievements of his career. Apart from the medal at Olympics, he was some other titles in his career. The talented Russian player has already won four ATP singles titles in his career. This includes a Paris Masters title from 2018 which was an ATP 1000 event. His career-high ranking in the ATP charts up till now has been 8, which he climbed up in 2019.
Khachanov is currently competing in the Hamburg Open in both singles and doubles categories, he has reached the quarterfinals in singles by beating the Italian Fabio Fognini and is scheduled to meet Carlos Alcaraz next. He has been going strong in doubles where he has reached the quarter-finals with his fellow countryman Andrey Rublev.
Karen Khachanov’s hotel room was “completely robbed” in Hamburg
The Russian has his hotel room robbed in Hamburg, a source told Russian outlet RIA Novosti “Karen is playing at a tournament in Hamburg this week, his game has improved, he feels great, but on Thursday an extremely unpleasant event happened,” “Karen’s room was robbed, they even pulled everything out of the safe.” The source claimed.
After the incident, the German investigation services are now trying to find the thieves who conducted the robbery at his hotel room. The report says the Russian was not present at the time when this whole incident took place. Khachanov with other Russian players was banned from playing in the Wimbledon, and the Russian said that he was “really sad” and “disappointed” by the decision of All England Club.
