“This is absolutely despicable,” US politician Claudia Tenney roots for Novak Djokovic’s participation in the US Open
35 year old Novak Djokovic won his 21st Grand Slam championship after defeating Australian Nick Kyrgios in the 2022 Wimbledon final. This was Djokovic’s fourth Wimbledon championship in a row and his seventh overall. Due to several difficulties surrounding his Covid-19 immunisation status, the Serbian has been forced to withdraw from numerous events and possible Grand Slam competitions.
The runner-up from last year, Djokovic is currently prohibited from entering America since COVID-19 vaccination is now required for all international visitors. Djokovic, on the other hand, has said categorically that he has no intention of receiving the vaccination.
“The best tennis player in the world is unable to compete because of politics” Claudia Tenney slams the US governement for it’s vaccinnation guidelines
American Congresswoman Claudia Tenney slammed the US government for it’s vaccine mandate and guidelines which are seemingly preventing Novak Djokovic from competing at the US Open. Supporting her was popular television personality Rachel Campos-Duffy. While Tenney blamed politics for the situation, Duffy resorted to taking potshots at President Joe Biden.
Rachel tweeted, “This is the dumbest thing ever! Can someone wake sleepy Joe up from his nap and tell him the pandemic is over? Our government continues to work for #BigPharma?”
Tenney took to twitter as well to voice her support for Djokovic, This is absolutely despicable. @DjokerNole is the best tennis player in the world who performs at an ultra elite level is unable to compete in a premier athletic event in the US because of politics.”
The United States recently ruled that foreign nationals will no longer be required to present negative test results in order to enter, instead, they must provide proof of a double dosage of coronavirus vaccine. As a result, Novak Djokovic will in all certainty, be forced to miss the North American swing as well as the US Open.
