Witnessing huge upsets at the ongoing US Open, Amanda Anisimova, the Russian-American tennis professional was ousted in the first round when she played against Yulia Putintseva who wound up the match with a straight flush score of 6-3, 6-3.

Later her defeat, the American while interacting with her fans via post opened up on her recent struggles in consideration of her knee injury which is sustained at the Cincinnati Masters, quoting “this post is not an excuse and has nothing to do with my loss.” Despite her loss, she didn’t shy away from applauding her opponent for playing good stating “my opponent played great and she deserved the win!”

Amanda Anisimova after her unfortunate loss at the Flushing championship, kept forward her current physical and emotional status saying “It’s been an emotional couple of weeks, it has been tough. I broke my toe in Cincinnati Masters and I’ve done everything I could to get ready for the Open.” Delegating further on her injury, she quoted “even with getting injections in my foot that hurt more than that actual injury that I’m still recovering from lol.”

Anisimova, who at the moment seems antagonized with her first-round US Open defeat described her love for the sport and the mental state it has put her in whilst applauding her supporting fans saying “I love this sport so much, even though it brings a lot of pain and disappointment,” ultimately ceasing her heartfelt post stating that “I hope I’ll be back stronger next year and thank you to the crowd that is always the best here in New York.”

The young 21-year-old professional has under her belt two WTA tour titles and has achieved a career-high ranking of being placed at world No. 21. Tennis icon and legend Serena Williams, who is a crowd favorite performing at the New York courts is also chasing breaking hearts as she is set to depart from tennis altogether post her performance conclusion at the US Open championship.
