“Every kid back then grew up watching Rafael Nadal play”: Naomi Osaka

Rafael Nadal and Naomi Osaka

Naomi Osaka has been a big fan of the 22-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal. She has always idolized him since she started playing at a very young age. She started playing with her sister Mari Osaka, both of the sisters being groomed by their father. Recently, an image of her and her sister stormed the internet where both the sisters are watching a practice match of Rafael Nadal during the 2006 US Open at the Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Osaka was an 8-year-old by then and Nadal had won two-time Grand Slam title champion back then. People on Twitter found it as a matter of coincidence that the young kid today is a US Open champion herself and has the privilege to know him better as a player.
