German player Alexander Zverev is one of the strongest players in the upcoming generation. He has been the only active player apart from the Big 4 to win five Masters1000 titles and had been also the champion at the 2021 ATP Finals. Former German player Haas praises his compatriot and was confident of the former World No 2’s great comeback on the Tour.

The World No 12 has been on the sidelines due to his injury during the semifinals against eventual winner Rafael Nadal at the 2022 French Open. He walked out of the court, limping on crutches at 3 hours and 13 minutes into the game. After a detailed investigation, Alexander Zverev underwent surgery that kept him out of action for months due to his recovery. He had been looking for a comeback at the US Open but another injury pushed his plans and ended his season abruptly.

Tommy Haas said during a podcast with Eurosport Germany, “Time passes quickly. When you see who comes next, you see that it doesn’t get any easier. Federer is gone, but Nadal is certainly one or two years old, and Djokovic two or three. And what are Tsitsipas and Medvedev doing, hasn’t Kyrgios also become hungrier? Afterward, I am also convinced that Sascha will come back quickly and play incredible matches. He must of course first get into the bath, and gain experience in matches. He lives tennis and he has a good team around him.
