Honestly, I have no idea. I guess it was supposed to be my day today. I had a bit more luck in the end. I played some fantastic tennis. I’m really happy to be in the 4th round again.
Miomir Kecmanovic said after win over Tommy Paul.

Notably, this is the second time that the Serbian has made it to the fourth round at the Australian Open. Before this year, Kecmanovic reached the fourth round at the 2022 Australian Open. Also, this is his second fourth-round qualification at a Grand Slam tournament.

Miomir Kecmanovic holds his nerves in crunch moments to oust Tommy Paul

Coming to the match played between Tommy Paul and Miomir Kecmanovic, it was an intense battle that lasted for three hours and 57 minutes. The Serbian built on the start and won the next game too. Atlhough Kecmanovic was pushed to the edge in the next two games and the scores were level, the Serbian did not lose hope and made a comeback to clinch the first set 6-4. But Paul was no pushover as the American won the next two sets to take the lead.

However, with the gap too narrow, the match was pushed into a five-setter and Kecmanovic sensed an opportunity. The Serbian won the fourth set in a tiebreaker (9-7) and then served Paul a bagel in the decider to reign supreme.

Now, the 24-year-old Serbian will face second seed Carlos Alcaraz in the fourth round. Even if Kecmanovic loses in the fourth round, he would be proud looking back at his campaign where he beat the likes of Paul, Jack Draper, and 24th seed Jan Lennard Struff.
