Coco Gauff lost the Roland Garros 2022 finals against the world No.1 Iga Swiatek. The 18-year-old who was on a streak of straight-set wins into the final found herself on the other side of a match that once again ended in straight sets.
However, Gauff’s capabilities, skills, her style of play can’t just be criticized because of a failed performance on one single day. Throughout the tournament, she showed us how good a player she is and we will definitely be witnessing more amazing runs like this in the coming future.
Gauff along with her amazing performances on-court showed another side of herself off the court which is very difficult to find in a teenager like herself. The maturity with which Gauff answered questions in interviews, on the court, and off the court, even during press conferences. She acted as an inspirational figure for the upcoming youngsters in the sport.
Gauff after losing the much important match held her head up high and said that despite being extremely disappointed for not going the extra step and winning the final, she would wake up tomorrow and be extremely proud of what she managed to achieve at the French Open this year.

Even though Coco Gauff might’ve not managed to win the crucial match and win the french open title but she did manage to win the hearts of people around the world and that too in two ways. The 18-year-old first impressed everyone with her performances and her skills. But in the end with her words, it seemed as if she always knew the right thing to say at every moment.
Coco Gauff during the post-match press conference said, “I realize that it is hard to get here but it’s not like some master puzzle that you need to solve. You just need to have to get your mind in the right place. Also watching a lot of players getting into the Semi-Finals and Finals and they freak out.”
“A lot of time they feel it is something wrong with their game. But really I think we all are great players. But I think it is about your mindset at the moment and minimizing the moment. It doesn’t matter it’s just a tennis match, I am feeling a lot of emotions right now, but tomorrow I am gonna wake up and be really proud of myself.” added Coco Gauff.
