Sexism is not a secret when it comes to sports. A lot of claims based on gender have revolved all around the sporting world. Every sport sees at least ten such stories every year where gender is the main topic and not the skill that they perform.

Well, what’s most unfortunate is that women need to face more of criticism in such cases. May it be unfair treatment on certain matters or a certain way in which they are looked at, at times. What’s worse is that many demands to do what men do and don’t allow the difference between the two genders to prevail.

The tennis world has caught one such comment recently. The unusual part is that this comment is made by another female tennis player. World no. 1 tennis ace Iga Swiatek recently commented on how she would want fellow WTA players to play like ATP stars Nadal and Djokovic. A comment of this sort was going to create ripples around those who follow sports in general.

Generally, one would expect Gender A to be giving advice to Gender B to be like Gender A. What really shocked the tennis community and certainly angered them was that Gender B itself was telling its own gender to be like Gender A.

A comment like this from one of the best players currently on tour hasn’t gone well with her fans. She would certainly want to either clarify what she meant or take back what she said.
