Marta Kostyuk has had a superb run at the Australian Open 2024. The Ukrainian beat Maria Timofeeva on Sunday to book her place in the quarterfinals of the tournament.
Her run in the Australian Open so far also includes a thriller against Elise Martens, in which she won in the tiebreaker. However, apart from her on-court performance, she has been criticized for her behavior post-match.

In a ‘Get to Know’ video with the WTA, Marta Kostyuk opened up about her personal life. During the video, she was asked about her favorite swing of the season.
I think European. It feels more like home. Easier to travel and I can always go back home very, very easily. Everything is cheaper. I feel just more relaxed here. I get to see my family and it’s important.
To which the Ukrainian said
That’s not all; in the video, Kostyuk also opened up about her mother being the inspiration behind her taking up tennis as a sport. Kostyuk’s mother, Talina Beiko, is a former tennis player and coach.
Marta Kostyuk is set to face Coco Gauff in the quarters of the Australian Open
After some dominating wins in the first four matches of the tournament, Kostyuk will be up against 2023 US Open Champion Coco Gauff.

Both players have faced each other only once before this match, and it was in the Adelaide International 2022. Gauff won the match in three sets. Thus, on Tuesday, the American will be the favorite going into the match. However, it would not be a good idea to underestimate the likes of Kostyuk.
Keeping in mind the impressive form of these two high-performing players, the match is expected to be a top-notch thriller. As for the match, the first set between the two has gone into the tie-break. And it will decide the course of the match.
