“UNBELIEVABLE! What a miss” Fans slam BBC for not showing the handshake between Stefanos Tsitsipas and Nick Kyrgios after an electric encounter

Stefanos Tsitsipas and Nick Kyrgios

Stefanos Tsitsipas and Nick Kyrgios‘s third-round encounter at Wimbledon 2022 was one of the most anticipated encounters of this edition as the two stars clashed in a rousing atmosphere. Kyrgios started the match with his usual outbursts, calling out umpires, line judges, and mumbling at slight inconveniences, but Tsitsipas took the first set 7-6. But the second set was a bit different as Kyrgios was able to get through Tsitsipas and broke him at 4-4 to take the second set 6-4.

Things started to get out of hand for Tsitsipas in the third set as Kyrgios’s constant irritability and usual rash and disruptive behavior caused Stefanos to suffer a meltdown as he was given a point penalty which aided Kyrgios in winning the third set easily. With the tight fourth set and flawless tiebreak from Kyrgios, he won the match. Kyrgios also passed some sarcastic remarks at some bad misses from Tsitsipas. In the third set, Tsitsipas hit the ball in the crowd which fortunately didn’t hit anyone but Kyrgios stayed adamant on getting him defaulted.

Stefanos retaliated to all of these mind games and disruptions from Kyrgios by targeting the net-balls at his body. The match left a bitter taste in spectators’ mouths even though it was a hell of a performance from both the players. The atmosphere had become quite toxic due to the actions of both the players and it was expected that their animosity will be seen after their match during the handshake. But, the BBC committed a horrible blunder of not showing the much-expected handshake between the two.
