Venus Williams, a former World No 1 in both singles and doubles categories, is one of the greatest players of all time and is set to make her comeback in the singles category after a year in the Citi Open for the very first time. Recently, she participated in the 2022 Wimbledon Championship after a gap of eleven months. Her comeback came as a piece of shocking news as she made a last-minute decision to play in the mixed doubles category with Jamie Murray. After winning the first round, she became confident of her decision to come back but soon lost in the Round of 16 at the All England Club.

Williams, a 7-time Grand Slam champion, has also won 14 women’s doubles major titles, all of them with her sister Serena Williams and they both are a beaten pair in the Grand Slam doubles finals. Her last singles match was at the Chicago Women’s Open last year where she lost in the first round match in straight sets. The Citi Open which is to be held in Washington DC will also feature big names like Andy Murray, Nick Kyrgios, and Emma Raducanu as they will be in full action mode ahead of the US Open 2022.
