US Open 2022: Where to Watch, Live Streaming Details and TV Schedule

The 2022 US Open is almost here with players gearing up for the event. The main draw begins on August 29 for both men and women’s singles tournament and will end on September 11. The US Open will be played at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, New York. This year, the prestigious grand slam has made changes in the prize money. The USTA will be awarding $60 million in total players compensation which is a huge increase from last year’s $57.5 million.
World No. 1, Daniil Medvedev is set to defend his 2021 title after he easily defeated Novak Djokovic last year in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4. Medvedev will be playing his first round match against American Stefan Kozlov on August 29. On the other hand, teen sensation, Emma Raducanu will be defending the title in women’s singles category since she won the title last year against Leylah Fernandez. The World No. 11 is set to play French player, Alize Cornet in the first round.

This year, the US Open has been in the news as 3-time champion Novak Djokovic is denied entry due to vaccination mandates and his unvaccinated status. Djokovic announced on Thursday that he has indeed pulled out of the Championship. He wrote on social media, “Sadly, I will not be able to travel to NY this time for US Open. Good luck to my fellow players! I’ll keep in good shape and positive spirit and wait for an opportunity to compete again.”
On the other hand, Former World No.1 Serena Williams announced her retirement this month which will most likely happen after the conclusion of the US Open. She’s preparing to win a record 7 titles in her home tournament. She will indeed have the crowd on her side. She is set to play Montenegro’s Danka Kovinic in her first round match on Monday, August 29.
