Third seed Daniil Medvedev will take on 13th seed Alex De Minaur in the fourth round of the 2023 US Open on Monday. The 24-year-old began his US Open journey with a win over Attila Balazs in the first round. He then cruised past Christopher Oconell and Sebastian Baez to earn a position in the fourth round

On the other hand, Alex de Minaur defeated Russian Timofey Skatov in the first round. He then emerged victorious against the likes of Yibing Wu and Nicolas Jerry en route to the fourth round.

Medvedev has already had great success on the tour this year, but he has yet to win a Major. He has 51 wins from 62 matches, including title campaigns in Rotterdam, Doha, Dubai, Miami, and Rome. He also reached the Wimbledon semifinals and finished runner-up in Indian Wells.

Alex De Minaur, on the other hand, has had a good season thus far, with 35 victories from 53 matches and a title-winning run at the Mexican Open. He also finished second at the Queen’s Club Championships, the Los Cabos Open, and the Canada Open.

Medvedev leads the head-to-head against De Minaur 4-2. However, De Minaur ousted the Russian most recently at the 2023 Canada Open in straight sets. The World No. 3 would be looking to avenge his defeat in Toronto.

It would definitely be a sight to watch. The Australian has shown immense promise as he has reached four finals on the main Tour this year. He moves very efficiently on the court. The 24-year-old also has a good offensive game.

However, do not count Medvedev out. He has exceptional command over his baseline game and astonishing defensive skills. His recent run in the Wimbledon semifinals proves that he has what it takes to move forward in a Grand Slam. He is also the 2021 champion of the US Open and has won 250 games on the hardcourt surface. Therefore, Medvedev is the favorite to win.
