Daniil Medvedev will take on the giant Serbian, Novak Djokovic in the finals of the US Open 2023. The 2 faced each other in the same place and stage in the 2021 US Open, with Daniil Medvedev winning the clash in straight sets. The Russian stopped the World No.2 from winning a calendar slam. It will be an exciting clash of generations in New York in a crowd-filled stadium on a Sunday night.
Novak Djokovic will be looking to take his revenge against the World No.3 and win his 3rd Grand Slam title of the year. It will be a huge challenge for the Russians to try and stop Novak this year as the Serb has had an extremely good season on Tour this year.

Daniil Medvedev overcame World No.1, Carlos Alcaraz in the semi-finals in a 4-set match to proceed to the finals. Medvedev looked way too dominating since the beginning of the match to upset the Spaniard. He looked very calm and unnerved surrounding the Alcaraz fever all around. After the match, he said he played an amazing match from his side and was delighted to reach the finals yet again. On facing Djokovic on Sunday, the Russian said, “The challenge is you play a guy who won 23 grand slams and I have only one. When I beat him here (in 2021), I managed to play better than myself. And I need to do it again. There is no other way.”
Novak defeated a very excited Ben Shelton in the semi-finals of the US Open in effortless straight sets. The 36-year-old reached his 4th Grand Slam Final of the year for the 3rd time in his career, winning 2 out of the 3 played so far. Djokovic will play in the 10th US Open finals of his career and will be looking to extend his titles to a record-breaking 24 Grand Slam wins. If he wins on Sunday, he will equal Margaret Court’s record of 24 titles.
