World No. 2 Djokovic had a tough test against compatriot Laslo Djere. He lost two sets consecutively with a score 6-4. However, in true legendary fashion the star made an astonishing comeback from the deep end. After not breaking Djere in the first two sets, he geared up and broke his opponent four times in the next two sets. The 36-year-old dropped just two games to push forward towards a deciding set. The second seed dropped only 3 games in the final set to reach the fourth round at Flushing Meadows for the 15th time.

Djokovic breezed through the first two rounds, defeating Alexandre Muller and Bernabe Zapata Miralles for the loss of just 11 games.

Meanwhile, the 105th-ranked Gojo is having a dream week in New York with a straight-set win over Jiri Vesely. The single-sided play continued in the next two sets, with Gojo dropping only five more games to advance to the second week of a Grand Slam for the first time on his debut at Flushing Meadows. Gojo increased to 8-5 on the season after defeating 15th seed Felix Auger-Aliassime in the first round and home favorite Mackenzie McDonald in the second.

The French Open champion has won 23 Grand Slam Tournaments. He is now eyeing his monumental 24th title and the Balkan does not have the ability to stop him from reaching there.
