The women’s singles final at the 2023 US Open could not have gotten better players than Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff. Although Iga Swiatek came as the defending champion and the hot favorite, Gauff and Sabalenka put in the hard yards and have deservingly qualified for the summit clash. Both players put on a show in their six matches. Aryna Sabalenka did not lose a set before the semifinal. But Madison Keys put her in a tough situation as the American won the first set 6-0.

Sabalenka was trailing in the second set as well. However, midway through the match, Sabalenka got her act together and started firing on all cylinders. Eventually, it was a win for the 25-year-old Belarusian in a 10-point tiebreaker. On the other hand, Coco Gauff did not have to sweat much against Karolina Muchova as the 19-year-old American took the game 6-4, 7-5 in 2 hours and three minutes.

Now, Gauff will be against a relatively tougher opponent who does not give up that easily. It will be a big challenge for the young American to topple the seasoned Belarusian.
