The World No. 4 had to withdraw from the French Open due to a viral illness. However, she made an incredible comeback at Wimbledon, where she reached the quarterfinals. She also managed to make it to the semifinals at the Canadian Open. Although she recently pulled out of the Cincinnati Open because of a shoulder injury caused by poor scheduling in Montreal, she has had an impressive 38-10 win-loss record.

Her opponent, Kostyuk, does not have many wins to her name but is steadily improving. She has managed to defeat various top-seed players like Maria Sakkari and Paula Bedosa in recent months. She actually has a lead against Rybakina in their face-off. It will be an interesting match to watch out for.
