Novak Djokovic has finally tasted silverware this season after beating Nick Kyrgios in the final of the 2022 Wimbledon Championships to win his first major of the season. He had a very weird year before Wimbledon where he struggled with form and luck. He wasn’t allowed to compete at the Australian Open earlier this year due to his vaccination status and the same scenario was replicated at the Golden Swing.

He had a 10-day long tussle with the Australian government and judiciary but eventually, Djokovic was deported from the country. What followed was a late start to the season and despite winning the Rome Masters on clay, the Serb wasn’t able to defend his French Open title and lost to arch-rival Rafael Nadal in the quarterfinal.

But he bounced back and won his 7th Wimbledon and 21st grand slam title at the All England Club. He is now just a major shy of equalling Nadal’s record of 22 major titles. But it looks unlikely for Djokovic to gun for his 22nd major title at the US Open this year due to the vaccination policy of the States. As of now, any foreign individual requires vaccination to enter the USA and Djokovic isn’t vaccinated.

Drew Springer calls out Joe Biden on the Novak Djokovic vaccination saga

State Senator for SD30, Drew Springer took to social media to voice his opinion against the ruling and held President Joe Biden accountable. He wrote that Biden is banning Djokovic from coming to the USA to play the US Open but on the other hand, is allowing millions of unvaccinated illegal immigrants from Mexico to cross the border. He raised the question: What’s one more unvaxed person?

“Biden is banning Novak Djokovic from coming to the USA to play the US Open but allows millions of unvaccinated illegals to flood across the border. Hey Joe, what’s one more unvaxed person?!?!” he wrote.
