Serena Williams‘ future bundle of joy received a boost in excitement when her sister, Venus Williams, submitted an unusual baby name proposal during a recent Q&A session with fans. Venus, known for her easy-going and open nature, surprised admirers with her clever reaction, which reflected the Williams sisters’ tight friendship.
In a recent YouTube Q&A video, although taped before Serena’s gender reveal, a fan asked Venus whether she had any baby name suggestions for her sister. “Okay, baby name recommendations for Serena. So, we don’t know yet if it’s a boy or a girl. So, we’ll all find out at the gender reveal,” she responded. The seven-time Grand Slam champion added a fun touch, recommending the name ‘Venus’ for the new family member.
Venus, 43, who clearly loves her own name, said, “But I think that whether it’s a boy or a girl, it should be named Venus.” She mocked her sister’s reaction, hinting that Serena and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, might not be wholly on board with the plan.
Fans laughed as the oldest Williams sister contemplated alternate astronomical names such as Mars, Pluto, Jupiter, and Uranus. Venus, on the other hand, eventually confirmed her love for her own name, emphasizing the close tie she has with her distinct personality.

Williams also openly discussed her personal battle with Sjögren’s disease, shining attention on the difficulties that the chronic autoimmune disorder poses. In the YouTube Q&A session with fans, Williams not only explained the complexities of managing the disease but also provided helpful advice on how to balance life’s ambitions with health limits.
Williams used a loving and approachable tone to address the nuances of Sjögren’s disease symptoms as she delved into the condition’s consequences. She emphasized the impact of dry eyes and dry mouth, providing a strong warning not to underestimate the severity of these symptoms.
The necessity of self-care and respecting one’s boundaries was a significant focus of Williams’ presentation. She emphasized the need of getting enough sleep and being aware of one’s physical and mental limitations, based on her personal experience. Williams warned against going past these limits since it could lead to tiredness and setbacks.
