Venus Williams, who is currently 43 years old, is looking to make a return to tennis at the upcoming Indian Wells and Miami Open.
In an injury update video that was recently posted on her channel, the former World No. 1 credited Serena Williams for motivating her to achieve her dreams even at this age.

Williams suffered a knee injury during her match against Elina Svitolina at the 2023 Wimbledon. Although she appeared in three more tournaments in 2023, the injury crippled the American’s performance, and she often suffered from swelling, and sometimes she could not even walk properly.
Venus was so adamant about continuing playing that she took cortisone injections for the first time in her career ahead of the 2023 US Open but got no results.
It was then that she started questioning whether she should continue her efforts to make a comeback, and her sister, Serena Williams, reminded her that she was not allowed to quit. This motivated her highly, and now her goal is to play in both the Indian Wells and the Miami Open this season. According to the 43-year-old, it has been a long-time goal for her.
My little sister, Serena, told me I'm not allowed to quit, and of course, I would never quit. But it's the mandate. She said no, so I will be back on the court. It's a long time. ... It's a lot of years not to play at home. So that's of course one of my big goals on the horizon, is to be there, prepare to do that.Venus Williams said. (Source: Tennis.com)
Venus Williams has a phenomenal record in the Miami Open
Venus Williams has won a record 22 matches consecutively in the Miami Open, the most by any player. She won the 1998, 1999, and 2001 Miami Opens and only lost to Serena Williams in the 2002 semifinals.

This shows how good Venus was in her prime. For now, she said that she is focusing on rehab once again so she can realize her aim of participating in the tournaments.
In the meantime, I just have to go back to rehab ... I never back down. So that's where I am, I'm back in the gym getting strong, and until that time, thank you guys for the support.Williams said.
Venus is in the twilight of her career and has long past her prime. However, she is one of those rare players who has the motivation to keep on playing, even on this page, and fans love her for that.
