“I don’t remember much,” Victoria Azarenka gets candid about her “mom-brain” following a terrific run before Australian Open 2024

Victoria Azarenka recently touched down on her favorite hunting ground, Australia, for her 2024 Brisbane International campaign. The Belarusian has already made her mark in her event and proceeded to secure a spot in the last eight.
Most recently, Azarenka reminisced about her time at the Brisbane tournament and made a candid confession about her motherhood almost immediately after her latest victory over Clara Burel.

The Belarusian started strong at the Brisbane International. Her opening-round clash against Anna Kalinskaya witnessed the former register a hard-fought straight-set victory over the Russian professional. Later, the two-time Australian Open champion locked horns with Clara Burel and after a hard-hitting contest that lasted two sets, Azarenka prevailed to secure a spot in the event’s quarterfinals.
In an on-court interview following her encounter with the Russian, Victoria Azarenka expressed her motherhood experience and highlighted the first-ever victory she claimed at the Brisbane arena 15 years ago. She said:
I have a mom’s brain. Since my son was born, anything before that I don’t remember much… I think a lot of moms can relate to that.Victoria Azarenka at the post match interview
Former World No. 1 Azarenka is through to the quarterfinals of the event for the fifth time in her career. The Belarusian is scheduled to face the winner of the tournament’s Round of 16 clash involving Jelena Ostapenko and Karolina Pliskova.
Victoria Azarenka expresses enthusiasm to witness Naomi Osaka and others return to action
Belarusian tennis star Victoria Azarenka recently spoke highly about the growing number of mothers on the WTA Tour in a press conference at the 2024 Brisbane International. The 34-year-old also expressed her delight in witnessing them manage their children and keep up with their professional obligations. She said:

I'm very excited to see players are coming back. I've said it few years ago already. I think we broke the stereotype that you be an athlete and have family. This definitely has been broken. It's actually evolved more and more. Japanese tennis sensation Naomi Osaka marked her comeback to the professional tennis circuit at the Brisbane International after a 15-month sabbatical due to pregnancy. However, the four-time Grand Slam champion suffered an unfortunate second-round loss to Karoline Pliskova at the event.
