Fritz is the overwhelming favorite to win this match. The American has had a prolific season so far and has a solid win ratio on hard courts. Fritz compliments his reliable serve with clean groundstrokes. He times the ball exceedingly well off both wings and has tightened his game this season. 

The Australian likes to take a cautious approach and start from the beginning. He can gallop across the court and use his powerful forehand thanks to his outstanding footwork. He consistently serves around 130 mph, which is strong. Fritz cannot afford to be complacent when facing Popyrin. But if he plays anything close to his best, he should outduel the young Australian.
