Women’s Singles Draw Preview
Top Half
In a packed section, American Jessica Pegula will headline the top half of the draw. She will face fellow countrywoman Hailey Baptiste in the first round and will then face either Daria Saville or a qualifier in the second round. She is drawn along with 8th seed Clara Tauson who opens against Andrea Petkovic. Staging her singles comeback after more than a year, Venus Williams also finds herself in the top half and will play a qualifier in the opening round and will most likely face Tauson in the next round.
2-time grand slam champion and 3rd seed Simona Halep will open her campaign against a qualifier and will then face Madison Brengle or Anna Kalinskaya in the second round. 6th seed Kaia Kanepi will lock horns against Greet Minnen in the opening round and will face the winner of the match between Harriet Dart and Lin Zhu in the second round. Halep and Kanepi are drawn to meet in the quarterfinals.

Bottom Half
The bottom half of the draw will be headlined by US Open champion Emma Raducanu. She will face Czech Marie Bouzkova in the first round and could possibly face fellow grand slam champion Sofia Kenin in the second round. Kenin will meet Camila Osorio in the opening round. 5th seed Elise Mertens will be up against Liudmila Samsonova in the first round while Ajla Tomljanovic will face Sloane Stephens in a blockbuster opening-round clash.
Multiple-time Australian Open champion Victoria Azarenka will play Dayana Yastremska in the first round and will face either Tereza Martincova or Xinyu Wang in the Round of 16. 7th seed Mayar Sherif will be up against Donna Vekic in the first round with the winner facing the winner of the match between Tatjana Maria and a qualifier.
2nd Semifinal Prediction: Victoria Azarenka vs Ajla Tomljanovic
Semifinals
Top seed Jessica Pegula will be up against former World No.1 Simona Halep in the first semifinal. Pegula has done very well over the last year while Halep is slowly reaching her peak. With Mouratoglou on her side, this North-American swing can be a real game changer for her. Expect the Romanian to win the match.
In the second semifinal, Victoria Azarenka will face Ajla Tomljanovic. Azarenka has a lot more experience on tour than Tomljanovic which will definitely come in handy for the Belarussian. Expect a good match with Azarenka reaching the final.

Final
In the battle of two 2-time grand slam champions, Simona Halep will be up against Victoria Azarenka in the Citi Open final. Both women have a lot of big match experience but are struggling with form of late. They have an incredible baseline game and know when to accelerate at the right time. Expect a very tight match with Halep winning the Citi Open title.
