Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic

Rafael Nadal has an impressive 7-2 head-to-head record against Novak Djokovic in the French Open. The second of those wins for Novak came in 2021 when he ousted Rafa in the semifinals and went on to defeat Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final and took home his second Roland-Garros title.

The two legends have not met since in the court and the fans have been craving a Djokovic-Nadal match for far too long. Djokovic took home the 2021 Wimbledon title, his 20th grand slam, while Nadal struggled with his injury. Rafa returned to win the Australian Open 2022 and take his grand slam tally to 21, while Djokovic was not allowed to play in Australia due to vaccination caboodle.

They had had starkly different journies this year with Nadal beginning an impressive run while Djokovic struggled with his form. Their paths have converged this year after a long time and brought them to the same tournament, and this is their first on-court meeting after so long.

Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic are the two of the best players in history and they still have that burning desire to perform at the highest level and win the most. They will again have to hold back a wave of talented young stars including Carlos Alcaraz, the experienced Stefanos Tsitsipas, and others if they want to win the battle in clay.

They will look to hit the right chords before the French Open begins and they will have a run for the glory in the red dust. Nadal and Djokovic are in the same part of the draw in Madrid Masters and they might face each other in the semifinal again just like their previous semifinal encounter in the French Open. Fans were thrilled after seeing them on the court together. It was a great sight to behold and there was a range of reactions from the fans on Twitter regarding this.
