The ATP tour is one heck of a challenge for all tennis players. The long season is going to start on the 1st of January, 2023 with the Adelaide International 1 tournament. It will end with the ATP Tours Finals 2023. All these competitions are going to see the best tennis players from all around the world in action.
After winning the 2022 Paris Masters tournament, Holger Rune will be on everyone’s list. ‘The player to watch out for’. The 19-year-old took the tennis world by storm when he convincingly defeated Novak Djokovic in the final of the tournament. With him, the youngest World No.1 in ATP history Carlos Alcaraz, too, will be in the media limelight. The expectations from him must be greater as he won the first Grand Slam title of his career- the US Open.
The other young tennis players who will be in the spotlight include Sebastian Korda, Jannik Sinner, Denis Shapovalov, Brandon Nakashima, and Lorenzo Musetti, among others. These players have shown great promise in the last couple of seasons.
The ban on Russian and Belarusian players by the ATP will also be on everyone’s mind. As the conflict between Ukraine and Russia does not seem to end, the suspense over the fate of Russian and Belarusian players in the ATP tournaments where they can represent their country, Russia or Belarus will continue. However, great expectations are there from World No.8 Andrey Rublev, who made it to the 2022 ATP Finals, and Karen Khachanov.
