Daria Kasatkina has taken coaching duties in her own hands, as she brought her girlfriend Natalia Zabiiako for a private tennis lesson in Dubai. The Russian-Estonian competitive pair skater had earlier taken Daria Kasatkina for ice-taking, hence it was the Russian’s turn to exchange the favor now.
Natalia Zabiiako certainly enjoyed her time practicing on court, as she posted a short clip on social media. This is the second time the 2014 Winter Olympics silver-medalist has taken to the court, and she feels that she is already getting better at it. Natalia Zabiiako is seen hitting a few forehands, as she remains confident about her progress so far.
Daria Kasatkina’s challenging start to the year continues, as she faced a first round exit from the Dubai Open this week. The seventh seed was handed a three set defeat by the 2021 French Open champion Barbora Krejcikova.

Daria Kasatkina continues to struggle after parting ways with long-time coach
Daria Kasatkina has parted ways with long time coach Carlos Martinez, whom she worked with for a period of four years. The tennis star and her girlfriend share a vlog, where she revealed that she was would parting ways with her coach prior to the Qatar TotalEnergies Open.
“We worked almost four years together. It’s a little scary during the season, when you don’t know a person and you start working during the tournament,” Kasatkina had said.
2004 Roland Garros champion Anastasia Myskina criticized Daria Kasatkina’s decision to split with her former coach. She believes that there was lack of any sort of substance in this decision. “Anastasia is right, and our vlog is not the most interesting, and I’m still not playing tennis very well. But can the Vice President of the RTF speak publicly with such negativity, and even anger, about his players?, ” Kasatkina wrote on her Instagram story.
Daria Kasatkina had a good run at the Adelaide Open last month, where she managed to reach the finals. However, she could not carry her form into the 2023 Australian Open, where she was knocked out only in the first round.
