After second-round exit in the Australian Open, losing to Coco Gauff, Emma Raducanu was under a lot of stress and pressure. Media and critics were at her heels and many legends and tennis fans had discounted her. She also decided to withdraw from many subsequent tournaments citing recovery from injury reasons.

There was a significant drop in her rankings as she is currently ranked No. 77 in the world. This required her to change many things and remove the unwanted things in her life. The first changes she made in her personal life is to stay away from social media.

After AO (Australian Open) I deleted WhatsApp and Instagram off my phone and after that, I’ve been living under my own little rock,” she said.

I felt like sometimes you go through patches where you just want to zone in on yourself and I was very content with my life without it. I’ve learned regardless of what you do, if you do good, if you do bad, people are going to come at you regardless,” she continued.

This could be a reason for her improved performance in the Indian Wells Open. Also, her partnership with new coach Sebastian Sachs is also yielding results for the 20-year old. Her fans would definitely expect that she can continue her good run in the rest of the season.
