Returning star Emma Raducanu managed to entertain the Indian Wells crowd after she won her first second-round match of the season.
For context, the young talent was up against the No. 11th seed, Dayana Yastremska, in an epic second-round clash. The Brit got off to a great start by taking an early double break, leading 4-0 in the first set. However, just then, her opponent, who was seen struggling with pain, took a medical time-out and soon had to walk off the court.

Much to fans’ dismay, this was yet another withdrawal at the 2024 Indian Wells, as the list of injured players increased by the day. With that being said, there is no denying that fans are a bit disappointed with all the walk-offs. However, to lighten up the crowd’s mood, Raducanu made everyone laugh with her hilarious fail.
During the fan interactions post-match, Raducanu was hitting tennis balls in the crowd. Hilariously enough, it did not go as planned, as she missed a few shots. The crowd erupted in laughter as the 21-year-old missed a throw to a fan in the first row.
Soon she reached out for the ball and passed it to the fan, as the crowd cheered her on. Though the match got canceled, the Brit made it up with her fan interactions. She also found time to click a few pictures and sign souvenirs for fans who were there to support her.
Emma Raducanu emerges victorious in another walk-over match at the Indian Wells
Another day at Indian Wells, and a couple more players withdraw from the tournament. This time it is the No. 11 seed, Dayana Yastremska, who had to walk out due to injury concerns.

She was up against the returning star Emma Raducanu, who seemed in great touch for the entirety of the 40 minutes of the match. She was in a 4-0 lead in the first set before Yastremska had to walk out, awarding a victory to the Brit.
With this, Raducanu advances to the third round of the tournament and mentally prepares herself for a tougher draw from here on. She will most probably take on Aryna Sabalenka if World No. 2 manages to win her first match of the tournament.
Despite the injured players, the draw continues to skim down, leaving only a few players behind who will battle it out for the title in California.
