WATCH: “Absolutely horrendous” Father brutally beats 14-year-old daughter on tennis court, leaves Twitter disgusted

In a recently released video that has been making rounds on Twitter, a father was seen brutally beating his allegedly 14-years old daughter on a tennis court, eliciting a widespread backlash against him on multiple social media platforms. The man even dragged her by the collar, apparently angered by her for not performing well in the practice sessions. The father and daughter in the viral video are said to be from China, where the dad argues beating children is allowed in order to inspire them as a cultural norm.

The video was first posted by local activist Igor Juric on Twitter and later authorities are said to have arrested the man for his actions. Meanwhile, tennis fans on Twitter, including top coaches such as Judy Murray, have denounced the disturbing turn of events.

Matches on the lower tier of the tennis professional ecosystem, such as the ITF Futures, usually have very little to offer in terms of prize money, traveling allowance, and better accommodation for participants. And that’s precisely why the majority of the players have to manage their hotel and traveling expenses on their own.

As expected, as soon as the video was made public, it instantly went viral on multiple social media platforms. Judging by the comments, while the majority of commenters were just disgusted by the heinous act and showed major concerns regarding the child’s safety at home, a few even discussed the terrifying repercussions of child abuse.

41-year-old Rennae Stubbs is a former Australian professional player now serving as a tennis coach and a television commentator. She owns a podcast called The Rennae Stubbs Tennis podcast as well.

Stubbs began her tennis coaching career back in August 2018 and the very first professional player coached by her was none other than Czech tennis player Karolina Pliskova. In 2019 end, she was added to the coaching team of Samantha Stosur. The pair had success and Stosur was able to win a doubles title with Zhang Shuai in the US Open 2021. Stubbs also coached the Canadian Genie Bouchard throughout 2020, where she was able to move close to the top 100 rankings from outside 300.

She was also part of American Tennis legend Serena Williams‘s team during her final Grand Slam tournament in the US Open in 2022. The tennis world is expecting firm responses from coaches such as Stubbs to avoid such heinous and disturbing on-court abuse in the future.

“Wow disgusting!!! Sadly this happens ALL THE TIME but we sadly don’t have it on film. Anyone who abuses their kids is just a POS,” wrote Stubbs.
