Frances Tiafoe, the 24-year-old American professional has made quite the name for himself in the latter stages of the season, ranked world number 26, Tiafoe reached the quarter-final stage of the Citi Open recently and was eliminated from the second rounds of both the Canadian Open and the Cincinnati Masters event.
The young American was looking to improve on his performances in the ongoing US Open and that is exactly what he did as he managed to reach the semi-finals of the final major tournament of the season and become the first black male to go so far in many years. The American was sure to get a massive reception but unfortunately that was not enough to steer him towards the final of the tournament.

Frances Tiafoe stunned the world with his performance throughout the US Open, the American managed to defeat the likes of Rafael Nadal and Andrey Rublev to make his way into the semi-finals of the tournament but his dream was crushed by 19-year-old Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz who eliminated Tiafoe in a five-set thriller.
One of the highlights of the game that caught the public eye was the presence of former first lady Michelle Obama in the stand supporting Frances Tiafoe as he fought for a place in the finals of the US Open. The support of Michelle Obama, however, was not enough to push TIafoe towards the finals as he crashed out after giving a great fight.
Carlos Alcaraz continues to perform as the Spaniard has finally made it into the finals of the US Open in fantastic fashion, playing back-to-back 5 setters. Alcaraz defeated Jannik Sinner in a match of the ages in the quarter-finals of the tournament and now after defeating Tiafoe, the Spaniard has a shot at winning the US Open and winning his first-ever grand slam.
Norwegian professional Casper Ruud will be the opponent for Alcaraz in the US Open final as both players will be duking it out for the title and the number 1 spot on the rankings.
