Frances Tiafoe’s girlfriend Ayan Broomfield gushes as Rafael Nadal’s son takes the spotlight during the Netflix Slam. Broomfield captured Rafael Nadal Jr. hitting a ball with his small racquet.

Nadal played against World No.2 Carlos Alcaraz in the high-profile exhibition game that was aired on Netflix Live Sports. Alcaraz edged past his fellow compatriot legend in 3-6, 6-4, (14-12) at the Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.

However, Broomfield, a Canadian tennis player and actress, posted the video of Nadal’s son on her Instagram story. The toddler was playing with a mini racket and ball in the stands, while his mother Maria Perello assisted him to the delight of family members and fans.

“Rafael Nadal Jr. was the highlight of the event hands down,” Broomfield captioned it.

The Netflix Slam was a big test for Nadal and Alcaraz to see who was prepared to take the tennis world by surprise in Indian Wells. With the competition starting on the 6th of this month, fans would be hoping for the duo to meet again.

Nadal who has been away for months after sustaining an injury in Brisbane showed his brilliance, despite being 37. On the other hand, Alcaraz didn’t look like he had twisted his right ankle at the Rio Open, as his impressive display reminded spectators how talented the Spaniard is.

It’s a good thing that as a player I will not face him many times. As a fan, I will enjoy watching him for many years hopefully. In Spain, we should be very, very happy about having someone like Carlos coming
Nadal said after the match

Netflix’s entrance into sports broadcasting and streaming a tennis match is a big statement on how developed the game has evolved. However, it remains unclear whether their strategy will complicate television rights agreements in the future.
