Gauff, along with tennis, also keeps up with the latest Internet trends. The tortilla challenge is the latest to go viral on the internet. Recently, Coco Gauff did the challenge with her friend and occasional rival, Taylor Townsend.

Coco Gauff and Taylor Townsend had a good time horsing around. They performed the widely popular “tortilla challenge,” which requires participants to keep water in their mouths before playing rock-paper-scissors. Whoever triumphs will use a tortilla to smack the loser across the face. Gauff and Townsend followed suit and participated in the opening round. After winning the rock-paper-scissor game, the French Open finalist smacked the tortilla in her opponent’s face. Gauff claimed that the slap was heavier than expected, which caused the pair to erupt into hysterical laughing while dramatically spitting out the water.

Gauff, who was grinning, defended her by saying, “She said slap me. You can’t slap me”. She said, “I have to get water,” as she prepared for the second round. Townsend triumphed in the second round of the rock-paper-scissors game. Townsend took care not to spank too hard, though, this time. “I swear I did not mean to slap you so hard,” the world number 11 wrote in the caption of the challenge video posted on her Instagram account.
