Serena Williams started off the US Open campaign with a bang, she defeated Danka Kovinic in the first round of the tournament and faced a tough fixture in the second round as she was up against world number 2 Anett Kontaveit, the 40-year-old American showed the world that she has that same class left in her as she defeated Kontaveit to move into the third round of the tournament as well.
In the post-match press conference, Serena was asked about the bathroom break that she took after the second set and if she did something that helped her emerge victorious from the tie, giving a hilarious reply, Serena said, “Yeah, no I just got lighter, use your imagination… but it wasn’t a No 2 so..“
No matter what Serena did in that bathroom break, it sure gave her what she needed to get the win in a tough battle against Kontaveit, the crowd who backed Serena over every point are ecstatic over seeing Williams progress even further into the tournament. After beating Kontaveit, Serena Williams is scheduled to face Ajla Tomljanovic in the third round of the US Open which will be yet another tough match-up for the American icon.
