WATCH: Iga Swiatek hits a sensational sliding shot to close out the first set against Ons Jabeur

Iga Swiatek is currently on a 27-match winning streak, and she faces Ons Jabeur, the winner of the Mutua Madrid Open, for a title in Rome. Iga has made a huge stride towards her fifth consecutive title. Jabeur is also on her own mini win-streak, which seems to have run into a wall as she faces the super strong and seemingly invincible Swiatek. Jabeur is also looking to make it two consecutive WTA 1000 titles, but she has a very tough match to say the least.

Iga Swiatek is a huge favorite to defend her Italian Open title and win the French Open in the coming week. No player has been able to cause Iga any trouble, and she has won most of her matches in straight sets and with a dominant scoreline.

Iga Swiatek heads into the second set with a 6-2 win in the first set.

Iga Swiatek took a 3-0 lead, but, Jabeur finally held her serve to make it 4-2, and she escaped Swiatek’s bagel and breadstick treatment in the first set. But, Ons Jabeur finally lost the set with a 6-2 scoreline, and she will have to produce something spectacular to even take a set from Swiatek. Still, she will also need some help from Swiatek, which is not something the players are getting from the world number 1 these days.

Swiatek hit a brilliant shot as she took the first set from Jabeur, and the task of winning for Jabeur looks impossible now as Swiatek rarely slips up after winning the first set.
