WATCH: Iga Swiatek shows respect to Agnieszka Radwanska by bowing to her mid-match during their exhibition clash for Ukraine

World No. 1 Iga Swiatek took on former World No. 2 Agnieszka Radwanska in a charity match played in Krakow, Poland with the match’s proceedings going towards humanitarian causes in Ukraine as the country continues to battle Russian forces for over 5 months now as the war started in Ukraine on 24th February 2022.
Swiatek had been speaking for Ukraine ever since the war broke out and has been sporting a Ukrainian colour pin on her cap every time she is on the court. The event in Poland was named ‘Iga Swiatek & Friends for Ukraine‘ and the match was umpired by former World No. 3 and Ukrainian tennis great Elina Svitolina who brought home a Bronze medal in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in the singles discipline. The match was also attended by former Pro Sergiy Stakhovsky and upcoming Polish star Martyn Pawelski.

In a one-set match between Radwanska and Swiatek, the current World No. 1 went down to her growing-up icon as Radwanska won the match 6-4. In what eventually became the final game of the match, Iga was serving to force the match into two more games as Radwanska lead 5-4 going into the 10th game.
Radwanska won the first point and before Swiatek could serve for the next point, a loud cheer went across the stadium which had the two players smiling and even saw Swiatek point to Radwanska and bow down to her showing respect while Radwanska looked overwhelmed by the crowd cheer and Iga’s gesture.
